Education & Leadership
Building the academic foundation and leadership skills every young person needs to succeed.
Academic success is a core priority at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha. Our education programs ensure that every member receives the support they need to stay on track in school and develop a love of learning. Through daily homework help, engaging enrichment activities, and hands-on leadership opportunities, young people build the confidence and skills they need to reach their full potential.
These programs are available to all youth members (ages 6-12) as part of regular after-school programming, Monday through Friday.
Power Hour
Daily ProgramPower Hour is a dedicated homework help and academic enrichment period that takes place every day after school. Staff and volunteers work with members one-on-one and in small groups to complete homework assignments, prepare for tests, and strengthen foundational skills in reading and math.
For members who have finished their homework, Power Hour includes reading time, educational games, and enrichment activities that reinforce what they are learning in school. The goal is simple: every member leaves the Club with their homework done and a stronger grasp of the day's lessons.

Project Learn
BGCA National ProgramProject Learn is a Boys & Girls Clubs of America national program that integrates fun, high-yield learning activities into all areas of Club operations. Rather than traditional classroom instruction, Project Learn weaves educational enrichment into games, field trips, arts projects, and technology activities, making learning something members look forward to every day.
Activities focus on STEM exploration, literacy, creative writing, social studies, and critical thinking. Members work on group projects, participate in hands-on experiments, and explore topics that spark curiosity and build real-world knowledge beyond what they experience in school.
