Fueling Great Futures
Proper nutrition is essential for learning, growing, and thriving. The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is committed to ensuring that every member receives nutritious meals and snacks at no cost. For many of the young people we serve, the meal they receive at the Club is the most balanced and substantial meal of their day.
Our food program is funded through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a federal program administered by the USDA. Meals are prepared in our on-site commercial kitchen by trained food service staff and meet federal nutrition guidelines for children and teens.
We serve over 20,000 meals annually, and every single one is free for Club members.

Maytag Feel Good Fridge Program
The Maytag Feel Good Fridge is a community refrigerator located at the Boys & Girls Club, stocked with fresh produce, dairy, proteins, and other healthy foods that families can take home at no cost. The program helps bridge the gap between meals served at the Club and the food families have available at home.
The fridge is restocked regularly through partnerships with local food banks, grocery stores, and community donors. It is available to all Club member families during regular operating hours.

Kitchen Helpers & Youth Involvement
Our food program is more than just meals. It is a learning opportunity. Club members are invited to volunteer as kitchen helpers, assisting food service staff with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup. Through this hands-on experience, young people learn about food safety, nutrition, cooking techniques, and the value of serving their community.
Teen members can also earn community service hours through kitchen volunteer shifts. Many of our SYEP youth employment participants gain their first professional kitchen experience through the food program, developing skills that transfer directly to food service careers.
